When life gets tough… Make a HYBRID Schedule!

16 Aug

Hello Stranger. Yeah, we’re talking to you!

So it has been a few days, what can I say, Slackers? Procrastination? Work? Cleaning? Umm, yes, all of those have got a lil’ something to do with it. lol. The whole cleaning thing is really a big part of all this exhaustion. 😦 School is in exactly 1 Week and so all the last-minute stuff has got to be fit in, ya know?… Our day off Saturday turned into renovating our bedrooms and closets. I’m talking in there from the time we woke up till dinner. Court and I literally stayed in our PJ’s all day, and ended up with TWO HUGE garbage bags each of crap to get rid of. The whole process was a good cleanse to our not only our bedrooms, but ourselves. It feels good to clean out and organize. I can honestly say our bedrooms/closets have not looked this good all Summer. Most of the time there were papers, magazines, and clothes all over the floor. EEE! No more of that, lol CANNOT mess up the beautiful finished product. 🙂

Shall we get to the yummy stuff! ~ 🙂

Check out some of the awesome deals that are at Natural grocers this month. Court, Ash, and I are so EXCITED! We even stopped by there after work, and they were all out of the Justin’s Maple Almond BUTTER! WHAT?! We have been dying to try it, and esp not that it is at $5 a jar vs. $8-$10. Yikes! Oh, but guess what!!!! We FOUND THE CARROT CAKE LARABARS 🙂 The hunt is finally over, and I am dying to rip one right open.

Greek Gods yogurt is so CREAMY! It is equally tied on the creamy level with FAGE.

Make a HYBRID schedule! Hybrid exercises combine multiple movement patterns into one congruent action. Recently one of Ashley’s Facebook friends posted a picture of her Hybrid schedule. This woman owns almost all of the Beachbody workouts. With that said, she some how managed to create a Hybrid Workout Schedule with Insanity, P90X, Brazilian Butt Lift, Turbo Fire, Chalean Extreme, and Hip Hop Abs. WOW! I was definitely impressed… talk about MUSCLE CONFUSION 😉 If you still have no idea what exactly a Hybrid Schedule looks like, then check out this one that combines Turbo Fire, Insanity, and P90x:

Pretty cool, huh!?! After reading this awesome workout schedule she had come up with then Whit, Ash, and I decided to come up with one on our own too! We made a hybrid schedule for the next two months. Each day is basically a different programs DVD. We will share our schedule with you once we have our FINAL COPY. Making your own Hybrid Schedule is so convenient. This is what a week should look like for us:

Mon. & Fri. – Strength Training and Abs

Tues. & Thurs. – Cardio

Wed. – HIIT

Sat. – REST

Sun. – Yoga

This schedule is what ultimately worked best for our school and work days coming up. Scheduling your workouts is a MUST! If you want to see results then you have to make working out a priority 😉 So come on what are you waiting for? GO MAKE A WORKOUT SCHEDULE.

Night guys!

I know I got the millet puff idea from you. 🙂 The garlic dipping sauce is my fave too. My family always gives me a weird look when I am dipping my pizza in it… but I think it is good! And I agree rest days are a MUST! Otherwise I would not be able to push it as hard in my workouts 🙂

Your workout schedule looks great! I wish I could be more flexible with mine but I have to follow my coach’s training plan.

    • CourtandWhit August 19, 2010 at 3:35 PM #

Really, I have never noticed a salty taste. I guess everybodys taste buds are different though 🙂 Do you have a personal trainer?

  13. Lauren August 17, 2010 at 12:17 PM #

Okay, love love love Justin’s nut butters

However, the chocolate protein packed oats combo sounded rather yuck. I think it’s the egg/chocolate combo that threw me off. But I shouldn’t knock it til I try it!!

Love your blog and your cute recipe ideas! Proud of your healthy living girls!

    • CourtandWhit August 19, 2010 at 3:28 PM #

Oh believe me it taste awesome. Think of it this way you have brownie batter, which includes egg, and then you are cooking the brownie. The egg is cooked into the oats which makes it a cake like texture. 🙂

It’s very true that you have to think of working out just as you would any other responsibility. As soon as you start making excuses, you run into trouble! I like the scheduling idea, but it is good to be flexible, too!

    • CourtandWhit August 19, 2010 at 3:26 PM #

You are absolutely right, that is why I have found scheduling my workouts leaves no room for excuses. It is just another thing on my list for the day that I MUST get done 🙂
