Hot Fitness Trend: Makeup designed specifically to workout in!! Ya dig that?

Nobody wants to have their gorgeous glammed out face melting off during a workout..Right ladies?!? I mean racoon eyes just ain’t that cute. Waterproof foundation makeup does something that no other cosmetic can do. It allows you to sweat it out at the gym, swim, and enjoy a warm day at the beach without worrying about it coming off or smearing onto your clothes. Apply in the morning and your skin will look flawless all day.  Even women who prefer water-based foundations have this one on hand for those special days when they want to look great with a minimum of effort.

Gym-friendly products. If you’re a makeup maven and can’t stand to go cosmetic-free, even for an hour or two, do your skin a favor and make a compromise. Replace your usual cosmetic repertoire with long-lasting formulas that won’t clog your pores. Wondering where to find makeup that has marathon potential when it comes to lasting through a workout? Here are a few top tips.

  • Cream foundation. While liquid foundation streaks during a hot yoga session and powder will most likely disappear completely, a long-lasting cream formula will stay better on the skin. According to makeup artist Mary Erickson for ABC News, “It’s going to sit nicely on the skin and won’t move if you sweat.” Make sure it’s oil-free and doesn’t clog pores – a common problem when wearing foundation during a workout. Try Colorescience PRO Sheer Creme Foundation – California Girl, which also includes sun protection – essential for those workouts outside. 
  • Lip color. Skip the heavy matte lipstick, and instead go for a tinted gloss or balm that’ll leave your lips looking healthy and full. On ABC News, Stila’s Amanda Rozelle recommends using moisturizing products that won’t dry out the skin or lips further than a workout already will. “If you use a regular lipstick with pigment, it will dry your lips. You don’t want that when you’re biking or working out. So I recommend using a gloss or glaze.” Try Stila Lip Glaze – Plumfor both moisture and shine. 
  • Mascara. Eyeliner and shadow most likely won’t stand up to the heat of an aerobic workout, and aren’t necessary at the gym. Waterproof mascara is your best bet when it comes to eye makeup. Look for a smudge-proof formula like bareMinerals Flawless Defintion Waterproof Mascara.

Wearing makeup to workout is a very controversial topic however. From a make up artist perspective who also works out “When we exercise we increase the volume of blood to our skin.  Exercise gets our skin warmer and opens our pores wider. When our pores are open wider, makeup, along with sweat, can clog them as well as attract bacteria. A person that exercises regularly produces more skin cells; with clogged pores, over time, this will not happen. By wearing makeup to exercise on a regular basis, your skin will become dull, get clogged pores, and might produce pimples and irritated skin.”

Court and I are both guilty of wearing makeup while working out though, and sometimes it is not always waterproof. The results have varied, but there are some weeks where we both get a lot of acne because of it. So with that said I am scoping out all kinds of products and experimenting to find what works best for me! 🙂

Things are finally happening

“There comes a time in life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. Surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don’t. Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is part of life, getting back up is living.”

This quote truly sums up how I have felt since I began to follow my dreams. There are those people in my life who have told me countless times “you can’t” “you’ll never make it” “your not good enough” “It will never happen” And you know what, I took all of that negative talk from all of those people and turned it into my biggest drive to prove them wrong, because guess what I can already turn to them and say look at me now! I walked away from the negativity, I walked away from those who did not treat me right, and I stood up for MYSELF! That takes a lot for any person to do, but I can honestly say it was WORTH it.

Right now I am 3 months into my training to be a certified Personal trainer, and I have learned a tremendous amount of information. My networking is through the roof in this industry, and best of all I have met some of the coolest people who I consider to be a fitness family.

Yesterday was a really exciting day, because Court and I ran our very first bootcamp, and let me tell you guys it was BAD ASS!!! We recieved a ton of compliments, people had a lot of fun, and our instructor even said that he was stealing that workout to use with some of his own clients. Everything ran smoothly, and it felt right.

New year, Happier Us

Hey Guys! It’s finally 2011

          You have no idea how long we have been wanting to say that. We now are in our last semester of Senior year, and then it is Graduation time in May! Yay 🙂 We are beyond excited to get out of high school and into the real world.

Here is my 2010 wrapped up with a FB post:

 It would not be a new year without a make-over right? Our boss at work has a Gay best friend who works for a salon, and he just happened to hook us up with some really cute hair 🙂

 Our two weeks of Winter break looked a little something like this, with crazy hours of work every single day! Yikes, you know there was a lot of post-work naps in there. lol

 Luckily, we are now in Shift Leader training, with the promise of a raise. You gotta love having a dollar raise at work. 😉

 I love Black&White photos, so Court and I had a picture-taking Fiasco one day 🙂 They ended up great to update old picture frames with in my bedroom.

 The last time we washed our car was the Summer, and look at it today. How clean right? The Tink-mobile was past due for a car wash, and now look at her sparkle in that Beautiful Colorado Snow.

 With a ton of new clothes and gifts from Christmas, it was time to clean out the closets. We ended up with TWO big bags of clothes to giveaway!

 I think Gold things were really a fav. this Christmas, because Courtney bought me this Gold Metallic Messenger bag from Charming Charlies.

 Juicy Couture Perfume(Got a million Compliments about how good I smell, while wearing this. And at work they were all 3 different guys that were like “Whit you smell really nice today.” Ha thanks I know. lol)

 Love Culture is a cheap high fashion store kind of like Forever 21, and I got Court this Glammed out belt there. She loved it 🙂

  • Saturday Jan 1.- Running around at Work for 8 Hours. There was no one working, and we were SUPER BUSY! There were no breaks, and we ended up leaving an hour late to get everything done.
