Do you have a celeb that influences your fashion?

26 Jul

We do! I LOVE Miley Cyrus and Lauren Conrad’s fashion. To get some outfit ideas or find out where they bought their exact outfit, I visit:

Miley: HERE

Lauren: HERE

I am OBSESSED with these sites lately. I guess that is what happens when it is Summer and you got nothing better to do but surf the internet and shop! There is seriously so many awesome sites out there for celeb fashion. I love these two sites in particular because they offer style, make up, hair, and accessory ideas! Do you guys have a site that you visit often for fashion?

Here is just one example page from dresslikemiley.net The dress and boots are both from Urban Outfitters and Whit and I actually own these. Sometimes it is cool to have the exact thing. Ya know what I mean!

I do not know what it is but I have had a mega carrot cake tooth lately! So with that said I made Whit and I the best darn overnight carrot cake oats eva 🙂 lol I guess this is the only carrot cake overnight oats that we’ve made… but still AMAZING!!! Breakfast is the best meal of the day in my opinion so I guess that is why I never run out of creative meals to make. YUM! Look at all of them specks of carrot.

 Overnight:
Combine in food processor…

  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  •  1/4 cup yoplait pineapple upside down cake yogurt(Pineapple Chobani could work too)
  • 4 baby carrots
  • 1 pineapple ring
  • Lots and Lots of Cinnamon 🙂

Then pour this mixture over 1/2 cup of oats and stir in…

  • 3 vanilla stevia drops(or vanilla extract)
  • 1 tsp. Agave Nectar

Once all of your oats are wet and everything is stirred then put on your Tupperware lid and refrigerate overnight! Nothing to it 😉

In the Morning:
Add the rest of your toppings…

  • unsweetened coconut
  • raisins
  • almonds or walnuts

Lunch today was leftovers! We both had the other half of our footlongs from yesterday served alongside a Fuji apple and oh yeah a random grape lol. The grapes we just barely bought are HUGE.

Whit and I did our first TurboFire 45 EZ class today. This one was definitely harder than the 55 EZ video. There is literally no stopping in this one. It is weird but TurboFire’s shorter videos always seem to be the harder ones.  It is ok though we refueled with some Pink Lemonade Coconut Water.

Do you remember the Real Coconut Water that we received from Taste Nirvana a while back? Well this one was the Coconut Water with pulp(hence the little pieces of coconut floating around). This little guy has 17% potassium. Crazy huh! We made our own flavored coconut water by combining a bottle of this with a Crystal Light Pink Lemonade packet.

Afternoon snack: A Nature Valley Strawberry Yogurt Bar

Well I think I better go help my momma with dinner now and get ready to watch The Secret Life of the American Teenager!

Friday May 28th-
WEEK EIGHT OFFICIALLY CROSSED OFF!

TGIF!

For those of you that are going to the movies tonight, I would definitely recommend Sex and the City 2. Last night me, whit, our oldest sister and brother(both in their 20’s) and his wife went to opening night. This is the first good movie that I have seen a LONG time. If you need a laugh then this is the movie for you to go and see. Everyone agreed that this movie was definitely funnier than the last, but people around us were saying that they could relate to the first movie more. Also everyone agreed that the movie could have done without the sex scenes. They are just awkward to watch and nobody wants to see it!

While Whit and I waited for our sister Karstee  to get home, we were starting to get really hungry so we decided to split an 18 rabbits bar for a light snack.

Here are the nutritional stats…

and the story behind this company

Look how BIG it is!

Here was the intention for making this bar:
“Haute Diggity Date was created to give our road bike friends extra energy to get up those hills across the Golden Gate Bridge.”

**VERDICT: This bar was so incredibly soft that it reminded me of a homemade chewy granola bar right out of the oven! It was so awesome, I loved the big pecan pieces 🙂

When she finally arrived home we left the house right away so that we could pick up sandwiches from Which Wich? before the movie. Since it was about 5:30 there was tons of traffic, so it took about 30 minutes to get there. I got the buffalo chicken on wheat, and Whit got the Caprese. I love this place. You just walk in grab a bag and write down everything you want on it, then you give it to the people to make. It is so much easier than Subway! Shortly after we rushed to the movie. It was such a fun night 🙂

This morning Whit and I awoke from another 10 glorious hours of sleep! We had a blueberry western bagel and some pear slices.

Mmm nothing like PB & J in the morning 😉

The pear slices had flaxseed almond butter drizzled over the top.

Man…. I am so exhausted from today. We were literally shopping all day. My feet, legs, back and everything is killing me. Our mom took us to Park Meadows mall to pick out our homecoming dresses for next year. That is right we always get our dresses about a week before the school year is out. Ladies still in middle or high school this is the time to buy your homecoming/ prom dress. Macy’s, Nordstom, and Dillards mark down all of their dresses, and there are hundreds still to pick from. We ended up spending 7 1/2 hours there and both found a homecoming dress. Unfortunately none of the prom dresses fit because we are too short. So I guess we are just going to have to go back again and find one that can easily be altered.
Does anybody else have a problem finding a prom dress that fits?
Our mommy bought our dresses, so we bought her lunch at Subway before the long ride back home.

Just when we thought the shopping ended there, Whit and I still had to grocery shop for the family. So about another two hours of walking around shopping, and we were finally able to come home and relax. There was no need for a workout today because for one we normally take the day off on Friday, and two we probably burned a zillion calories with all of that walking today.

It was 91 degrees in Colorado today, so something cold for dinner was a MUST! We had green monsters with a classic pb and pumpkin wrap 🙂

This monster was not as thick since we used the bananas we picked up today since there were no frozen ones 😦

This meal never fails to satisfy!

Ok now on to Summer Shape up. If you are like us and do not really like to work out on Friday’s then make it something fun. Go shopping like we did, go for a bike ride, do a dance video, jump on a trampoline, go outside and do the kid things that you used to do like jump rope/pogo stick/ roller blade/ ect. All that matters is that you at least DO SOMETHING. With the holiday weekend coming up, most pools are opening up so have a BBQ and go swimming with your family! Or maybe even a game of basketball/ volleyball outside. When you are doing something with your family and working out, the equation is complete. After this weekend, I want to hear back from you guys about what you did to get moving!

Now on to the meal plan of the day- If you are looking to feel good/ energetic, then here is a sample day for you:

Breakfast
-1 whole-wheat bran muffin topped with 1t nut butter (cashew, peanut, or almond)
– ½ cup canned pineapple chunks in juice
-1 cup low-fat milk, steamed and flavored with cinnamon and ½ t of sugar. Cinnamon enhances sweet flavors, so you’ll find you need less to get the same taste effect!

Lunch
-Zesty grilled cheese sandwich: 2 slices whole-wheat bread, 2 tbs cheddar cheese, 1 small green pepper, 1 medium sliced tomato. Use a sandwich toaster or non-stick pan (can be prepared the night before and reheated in the microwave at work).
-1½ cups canned tomato soup
-Coleslaw Salad: Combine 1/3 cup grated carrots, 1/3 cup grated cabbage, 1 tablespoon raisins, 2 tablespoons fat-free mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste

-Water or diet decaffeinated soda drink

Dinner
-Mango Chutney Chicken: Top a 4 1/2 oz. grilled chicken breast with a mixture of 3 tablespoons chutney and ¼ cup diced mango
– ½ cup steamed fresh green beans
-1 cup lettuce with 1 tablespoon low-fat dressing
-1 small muffin and ½ cup fresh strawberries

Snack(whenever you need it)
1 cup air-popped popcorn

Will I am off to bed, I have work at 6 tomorrow instead of 8! Have a good night 🙂

Wake up and inhale French Meadow Bakery!

1 Apr

Thursday 4/1

Last night, we also recieved a package of French Meadow goodies! They were kind enough to send us:

  • Sprouted Cinnamon Raisin Bagels
  • Sprouted Grain Tortillas
  • Gluten Free Fudge Brownies
  • A really cute mug!

So this morning Whit and I decided to try the cinnamon raisin bagels  for breakfast 🙂 These bagels are a good source of fiber, protein, and they are vegan!

Look at this breakfast, a bagel never looked so healthy! This was definitely the breakfast we needed to help us power through our Insanity Max Plyo video(55 min.) today. I feel like I did much better with this video today than what I did last week, but I was still a pool of sweat lol.

We topped the left half bagel with the rest of our pb loco white chocolate wonderful and strawberry preserves. The right half consisted of skippy all natural crunch pb and pumpkin butter. These were the best combos.

Bagel VerdictThese bagels were very thick and satisfying. They have a good wheaty taste alond with the yummy raisins. I felt better eating these than the ones from Einsten Bros. because these are actually made from all natural ingredients. I cannot wait to try the rest of these products. You can find them at almost any health foods store. I actually just saw them at Sprout’s for the first time yesterday Thanks again to French Meadow Bakery.

If you would like more info. please visit http://www.frenchmeadow.com/

Our breakfast was also served with our favorite green tea lattes….

And a yogurt parfait

It consisted of kiwi and some granola from Bakery On Main. They sent a few packs of granola and granola bars to review last week. The flavors included:

  • Gluten Free Apple Raisin Walnut
  • Gluten Free Nutty Cranberry Maple
  • Fiber Power Cinnamon Raisin
  • Fiber Power Triple Berry

*This granola is 100% natural, contains no artificial anything, no trans fats, and no refined sugars. Sign me up!

Cinnamon Raisin Granola was the chosen one this morning to go along with our cinnamon raisin bagel hehe.

GRANOLA VERDICT: This granola has just the right hint of sweetness. It tasted like it was homemade instead of store bought. I loved it. The only downfall is I wish there was more in the package. Overall though, I would definitely buy this granola again.

Well Whit and I have plans to go to Subway with our mom today on her lunch break, so that should be relaxing. Other than that my day is completely clear just to relax.

QOD: What have your spring break plans consisted of?
