Tornado’s, Projects, & Friday… Oh my!

          Long time, no see. You have probably been wondering where have Court & Whit gone? Well, to answer your question we have been…here…and

 here… making these magazines for US History. This project was torture 😦  These week has been out of CONTROL… So much HW! Everynight has been HW,HW,HW.. and more HW. Time is dwindling down and now it is Crunch Time. So pretty much a lot of Crazy things have been happening this week.  

 Wednesday~ Late Day “B” Day

Well let’s just say for being a “B” day, Wed flew by in the blink of an eye.

 Breakfast=Pumpkin Pancake Trio

 Toppings were per usual: 1) PB and Pumpkin butter, Greek yogurt&granola, sugar-free syrup

 

Mid-morning snack: Cookies ‘n Cream Luna 

 Lunch: Veggie salad, Clem, and 100 cal kettle popcorn 

 Also mixed in, was some leftover Garlic Pork Tenderloin

Afterschool, we rushed home, did level 3 of the Shred, then got right to work on that Project! 

Breakfast for Dinner is the best, so Dinner= Egg white spinach scramble, half of a juicy grapefruit, and some Apple cinnamon toast. 

 

Thursday~Earth Day!!!

Breakfast= Pumpkiny oats, with a Deep Chocolate Vita and new “Naturally More” PB. Also a green tea latte 

 This morning, and all week has been on and off PURE RAIN! You would think we we’re on the East Coast, but nope it is Just Colorado for you. Warm meals have been cozy though.

 

 

 **Naturally More PB Review: naturally more is lower in calories 169 vs. 190 for 2 tbs, naturally good for you-Flax, egg whites, etc. It was easy spread-Liqudy just the way I like 🙂

 After seeing this fabulous creation on Kath’s blog, Courtney and I recreated it for lunch using Progreso Tomato Bisque Soup, 1 Egg, and half of a Naan Flatbread w/ Laughing cow spread on top. This was awesome, I don’t know why we have never tried this before, but eggs are yummy mixed in tomato soup!

  And some Pepper was used to spice up the top.

 It was our early day today, so after lunch we decided to go grocery shopping for our mom. When we left, it was sunny & bright. As Whit & I were walking around Safeway casually, we looked outside and the whole sky was SUPER DARK! We were thinking WTF happened to the Weather? Then we heard the sirens (tornado sirens). We hurried up, checked out, then rushed into the pouring rain to get to our car. The whole parking lot was flooded, so our pants were soaked up to our knees, and the basket was sliding everywhere! When we got in the car, everyone was calling us frantically to get home, and sure enough we got home safely. Colorado weather never gets boring. lol

When we got home, a yogurt mess was sounding pretty ideal, so we whipped one up using:

  • Peach chobani
  • Plain greek yogurt

  • Apple Granola

 **Verdict: WOW! With real cheese, these babies were stuffed with creamy cheese, and were soft chewy goodness. There will for sure be more of these stocked up in the freezer in the future 🙂

 Also, picked up to try was Mocha Fudge SO Delicious Ice-cream!

 **Verdict: So creamy and decadent with big pillows of fudge in every bite. It kinda tasted like Starbucks Java Chip IC, but with less cals. We could not believe it was dairy-free! If you like SB Ice-cream, then we recommend this flavor to you.

 **Verdict: A girl needs her whip, but not for an extra 100 cal, so truwhip sign me up! No high-fructose, no gmos… ALL Natural! It was light fluffy, and a good whipped consistency, instead of being runny like some traditional brands.

 FRIDAY~TGIF!!!

This morning, it was raining again! Surprise, surprise. lol While walking down the ceral aisle in Safeway yesterday Court and I spotted something that caught our eye, Abundance Oatmeal. There are so many cool flavors,so we got Apple Cinnamon, and Maple Streusual.

 

To mix in we had:

  • Pink lady (heated w/ agave cinnamon)
  • Apple Granola
  • Naturally More PB
  • Cinnamon 

 

 

 

 And for a new Coffee creation, I being the Coffee making CHEF came up with a Chocolate Mint Latte, that is around 90 cals

Chocolate Mint Latte:

  • 1/2 cup of skim milk
  • 1 tbs of sugar- free fat- free Vanilla coffee creamer
  • 1 pkt of stevia
  • half a pkt of Fat-free Hot cocco (25 cals pkts)
  • A drop or two of Mint extract
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup hazelnut coffee

 And for some extra creaminess, a dallop of Truwhip! 🙂

For a snack during third period today, we tried another flavor of the Raw Crunch bars. CHOCOLATE!

**Verdict: Still loving the satisfaction these bars give me, and the chocolate in this one was heavenly 🙂 It was giant, crunchy, salty, and CHOCOLATEY!

 With the continue of crazy weather, during second period it was a crazy blizzard outside. lol

 Lunch was a Turkey Riccotta wrap, with apples, and a Breyers Yocrunch!

 Wrap are the best on the Italian Flatout 😉

 After school, we stopped to get gas in our car, and it is FRRREEEEZZZING outside! So we got home and warmed up with our fav. Carmel Tea and some Popcorn. Yum!

 

Now that you are all caught up, we are gonna go continue watching our Hills Marathon on MTV, listen to the rain, and maybe cook up a Frushetta Pizza. It is friday night baby! And the night is still young. Let the weekend begin, or work. lol oh well, better than school 🙂

SUNDAY 4/4-

Whit and I decided to take easter off from work. It felt glorious to finally have a Sunday to sleep in and go to church. The last time we did that was over x-mas break. We slept in until about 9 am, then we came down stairs to hurry up and make breakfast because we had to be out of the house by 10:30. The house was unusually quiet because our mom was at work, our dad was asleep because he just barely had lasik on Friday, and our two older sisters were still asleep. It was weird it did not even feel like a holiday.   

 For breakfast Whit and I whipped up some Monkey Brains Blueberry Oats.

 We topped our oats with Brazil Nuts, blueberries, banana, and pb. It is weird, but anytime I have a bowl of blueberry oats mixed with brazil nuts it tastes like coconut to me. This flavor was something our of the ordinary, but I still think the strawberry one is my fave!

 MMMmmm warm blueberries are the best!

 At church Whit and I got a grande non fat toffee nut latte, and were still pretty stuffed from breakfast by the time lunch rolled around so we kept it simple and light.  

 This was our first time trying the peanut butter & jelly flavor of the lara bars and it is a new fave 😛 We could eat one of these babies everyday lol.

Since Our dad just got lasic surgery on his eyes Friday and he has been sleeping non-stop this whole weekend! He cannot do anything real physical for a week, SO he decided to make this next week his “recovery week” from P90X. He is not a guy to just sit around all weekend, therefore he had the brilliant idea for an afternoon walk. And it was gorgeous outside, but a bit breezy. Could have probably used a light jacket.

 Easter dinner was probably as easy as it can get, Rolls and ham with potato salad. Also not pictured were some Deviled Eggs. Dessert was probably the best part Homemade Carrot Cake using a new product Xagave. Using the cookbook and Agave nectar the company sent us, we made a whole wheat carrot pineapple cake.

 The changes made to the recipe:

-For Cake-

  • Substitute Egg whites for eggs
  • Apple sauce for oil

-For Icing-

  • Use greek yogurt, reduced fat cream cheese instead of butter, and full fat cream cheese

 

 

 Verdict: I love agave in my cake! This carrot cake was so yummy, and no one could even tell the icing was mostly greek yogurt. lol It is great to make your family healthy secretly. Our dad was licking the oThe cookbook is great, and we look forward to trying more delicious Xgave recipes.

After dinner all of us kids watched Did you hear about the Morgans? It was a funny good movie to end the night with. Well breakfast and lunch are packed for tomorrow, and now it is time for these young ladies to get some beauty sleep. lol Hope you had a great Easter=)

Wake up and inhale French Meadow Bakery!

Thursday 4/1

Last night, we also recieved a package of French Meadow goodies! They were kind enough to send us:

  • Sprouted Cinnamon Raisin Bagels
  • Sprouted Grain Tortillas
  • Gluten Free Fudge Brownies
  • A really cute mug!

 

So this morning Whit and I decided to try the cinnamon raisin bagels  for breakfast 🙂 These bagels are a good source of fiber, protein, and they are vegan!

Look at this breakfast, a bagel never looked so healthy! This was definitely the breakfast we needed to help us power through our Insanity Max Plyo video(55 min.) today. I feel like I did much better with this video today than what I did last week, but I was still a pool of sweat lol.

 We topped the left half bagel with the rest of our pb loco white chocolate wonderful and strawberry preserves. The right half consisted of skippy all natural crunch pb and pumpkin butter. These were the best combos.

Bagel VerdictThese bagels were very thick and satisfying. They have a good wheaty taste alond with the yummy raisins. I felt better eating these than the ones from Einsten Bros. because these are actually made from all natural ingredients. I cannot wait to try the rest of these products. You can find them at almost any health foods store. I actually just saw them at Sprout’s for the first time yesterday Thanks again to French Meadow Bakery.

It consisted of kiwi and some granola from Bakery On Main. They sent a few packs of granola and granola bars to review last week. The flavors included:

Cinnamon Raisin Granola was the chosen one this morning to go along with our cinnamon raisin bagel hehe.

GRANOLA VERDICT: This granola has just the right hint of sweetness. It tasted like it was homemade instead of store bought. I loved it. The only downfall is I wish there was more in the package. Overall though, I would definitely buy this granola again.

Well Whit and I have plans to go to Subway with our mom today on her lunch break, so that should be relaxing. Other than that my day is completely clear just to relax.
