A visit from the Nut butter fairy

Ello Mates!

     This mornings fabulous breakfast was something similar to this Lemon Chiffon Baked Oats from months ago which is also on our updated recipe page if you guys have not visited it in a while.

Baked Lemon Ginger Oats

Serves 2:

  • 1 cup of Old Fashioned Oats
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp flax seeds
  • squirt of lemon juice
  • 1/2 container of Lemon yogurt (3oz)
  • Sprinkle of coconut
  • Grated Crystallized Ginger
  • Silvered almonds


  • 2 gingersnaps
  • 1/4 cup of Fiberone Cereal
  • 2 tbs Cinnamon Sweeties Cereal

Cook in the oven at 375 degrees for 20-25 min

  • Preheat the oven to 375, In a large mixing bowl, mix oats, water, mushed banana, lemon, chia, flax, and yogurt
  • Spray a small (8″ by 8″) pan with non-stick spray. Layer the bottom with Smashed gingersnaps and cereal
  • Pour all of the oat mixture over the mashed gingersnap cereal crust.
  • Top with Silvered almonds, coconut, and grated Crystallized Ginger


    Beautiful and Delicious.


     Todays snack for school featured yet again some of our much loved LUNA bars! Todays flava was Vanilla Almond.

     Can you see my little Leaf necklace? Isn’t it adorable! lol

    When Court and I finally made it home from school, there was a HUGE amazing package waiting on the porch for us! Can you say Christmas in September? lol This generous package was from the lovely people over at Artisana.

    Check out the loot. It is seriously a girl’s Nut butter Mekka. OMG 🙂

     The beauties well surely be put to good use.

     We each got to pick a Nut Butter flavor, and here were the picks for our BIG jars. I was dying for the Macadamia butter after seeing it on Gracie’s blog, and Court just had to have her classic coconut Butter.

     Shall we check out the stats?

     So far we’re thinking about using this one as a good German Chocolate Oat combo. Any good ideas?

    Maybe we will have to head over to Chocolate Covered Katie’s. After all, she is the Chocolate and Artisana butter Queen! 

     I really wish Macadamia nuts were not so expensive, because anything with Macadamia Nuts is fabulous. Okay, now I am craving a White chocolate macadamia nut cookie. Oh and I just got a genius Oat Creation idea.

     Lunch consisted of a Turkey and Cheddar melt with an apple drizzled with Macadamia Butter.

     Grilled is Mandatory of course 🙂

     Macadamia Butter Verdict: Fantastic aroma and consistency the moment that you open the jar. Court and I were so tempted, that the first lick was simple straight finger dipping. Oh, and the Apple Macadamia butter combo was perfect 🙂

     After lunch we completed Level 1 of shredding it with weights, and then had some good ol’ homework time, which is never fun! There was Psychology terms, reading the Great Gatsby, and studying for Pre-calc. My brain is officially fried. lol

     With a Pumpkin and sweet tooth craving tonight, Court whipped us up some delish Pumpkin pancakes

    Twas a good night. Tomorrow is a work day from 7-1, then off to art at 6. Have a fun night guys!


    Finally the Last Song is out!!!

    Finally, after days of the harsh 5 AM alarm clock going off, it finally was silent this morning, Court and I embraced our sleep, and listened to our bodies today. And they were ready to wake up at about 8:45 AM. With just a little bit of pumpkin in the fridge left to use up, we decided Pumpkin Pancakes and they turned out FAB-U-LOUS!  

     Toppings consisted of:

    • Nuked Cinnamon Agave Pink Lady Apple
    • White Chocolate PB
    • Organic Brown Rice Syrup

     While eating breakfast, we watched Good Morning America, and there was a segment with the author of Hungry Girl. She had some pretty good looking recipes.

    Since today is all about listening to our bodies, we did not work out. And we both agreed that our bodies were completly fatigued, and that a rest day is just what they needed to recooperate. Our mom wanted us to do the Grocery shopping today, so after breakfast we got ready and headed out to King Soopers, Sprouts, and Wal-mart. We needed to just pick some stuff up for Easter, and in general just some Kitchen staples esp. bananas and pink lady apples. Our Mid-morning snack consisted of last nights dessert a 1,000,000 Peanut Butter Cookie. And to hydrate some OWater.

     These cookies are great, they are like a cross between a PB cookie, and a snickerdoodle with the cinnamon sugar topping.

    After shopping, we met up with our mom for lunch at Chick-fil-a where we all ordered Chargrilled Chicken Sandwiches, with yogurt parfaits instead of fries.

    Then, later after some more shopping, we came home put everything away, and made a morning star grilled chicken sandwich in a pita with tomatoe, onions, and laughing cow cheese. And on the side was some more CheeCha Puffs. The Lime Flavor! These ones are the best flavor yet, and they remind me of the Lime chips at Chipotle, but a healthier version. They were the perfect pair for this meal.

     Then, when 6 o’ Clock rolled around, we headed down the road to go see the 6:30 showing of THE LAST SONG. It was a great love story, and such a sad movie, seriously my eyes were watering, and you could hear sniffles all around. lol Court looked over at me, and I could not help but laugh. I just always try to contain myself from crying in movies. The movie was filmed in Tybee Island, Georgia, and let me tell you, a Beach has never looked so beautiful. I already told my mom I want to go there this summer, it is gorgeous!



    When Court and I arrived home from the movies their was a half opened package waiting for us on the table. It was from Nicobella Chocolate. They were very generous and sent us an assortment of truffles to review. When we opened the box, one truffle was missing. Our mom fessed up and said she had eaten the chocolate. Keep in mind that our mom is the pickiest eater on this planet. We asked her how her truffle was and this was her response, “Well girls, after not eating one piece of chocolate for three months it tasted better than sex!” LOL Whit and I were laughing so hard that we pretty much fell over. Next it was our turn to taste the truffles….



    This was my truffle. It is the pumpkin chai flavor. For it being vegan this chocolate never tasted so creamy!

    Saturday… and its fridgid! 3/20

    Man, waking up to frigid cold temps, and blowing snow is so not cool! Right when we got out of bed, you could just feel the draft of cold air in the house. To warm us up, breakfast was the trio-Pancake special. Using the Honey whole wheat just add water mix, we made a blueberry turbinado oat pancake, a PB walnut reeses one, and a creamy coconut one.

    Served alongside a green tea latte.

    We were about 15 minutes late to work this morning, because we stopped to get Dr.Scholes shoe inserts, and pick up New Moon. lol R u gelling? Cuz were jellin like melon. Our work shoes majorly suck and kill your feet, to stand on them for 9 hours. By the end of the day they feel broken. But with these inserts man, there is no going back. They give so much cushion and support.

    Lunch was simply leftover chile verde poured over a salad, an orange, and some PB filled pretzels

    Court is liken her lunch, and a break=) Her shirt says “Donuts Shmonuts Eat a bagel.”

    While we waited for our dad to come pick us up, we sat on the curb outside of Einstein’s, and split this Cliff bar.

    Then, on the way home we picked up the mail, and got a new magazine. This baby was read while having a small chai tea, and PB graham cracker sandwich.

    About and hour and a half later, we met up for Dinner at 6:45 with all of the family at Olive Garden, to celebrate Karstee and Travis’s B-day’s. It was a fun get together, and Court and I both ordered Gnocchi Soup. When we got home we did cake and ice-cream, then all watched New Moon by the fire. The movie got over at like 11:30, so we hurried to bed since we had to get up in only a few hours.
