Weekend 4/24-4/25 Wrap up

25 Apr

Hey BUDDIES!!!

So this weekend was not a big extravaganza, but it was a good weekend you know. Work was not too shabby, esp. today, because we got to go home early 🙂 Thank you boss man! Yeah we could have stayed and earned extra money$, but we close every weekend, and just going home sounded so much better.

Saturday’s breakfast was blueberry Pie Oatmeal With some blueberry tea!

A blueberry vitatop was crumbled on top with coconut, and brazilian nuts, YUM!

Lunch involved some more blueberry and coconut:

  • Blueberry Coconut Prana Bar
  • Toasted Coconut vanilla yogurt
  • Half of Cinnamon Pink Lady apple

When we got home from work, we had a snack on our millet bread:

  • 1 slice millet
  • cinnamon
  • PB
  • greek yogurt
  • strawberry preserves
  • half a banana

Then, all of us girls decided to do a Chalene Extreme workout. We did Burn Circuit 3, which lasted for about a half hour, and consisted of some hardcore weight lifting/strength training. I ♥ Chalene, and she wears the most cute blinged out Workout outfits!

After our workout, Court and I had some of this High Country Kombucha Tea.

**Verdict: Taste like Gt’s Kombucha, but compared to it there is less sugar which is a Plus + in our book. And the Goji berry flavor was delish.

Then, for din din we made Veggie burgers and Sweet potato fries that had Cinnamon and maple on top(THE BEST, OMG)

After seeing April’s sweet bread, and hearing other bloggers rave about it, we decided to make some last night using our NuNatural Stevia.

**Verdict: We love to use a Zero calorie Sugar replacement when baking, and so far NuNatural products have been awesome for doing that. 😉

Low Carb Sweet Bread

Makes 1 loaf (8 slices)

Each slice 107 calories, 2.5 grams of carbs, and 7.5 grams of protein

For the higher protein version, each slice is 85 calories, 2.5 carbs, and 14 grams of protein

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1 cup wheat-bran
  • 1/4-1/2 cup pure pumpkin (depending how moist you like your bread- I like mine really moist so I used 1/2 cup) **we used a half**
  • 1 cup liquid egg substitute
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp each baking powder and cinnamon
  • 2 tsp pure stevia extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray a loaf pan with nonstick baking spray.
  2. Combine all ingredients.
  3. Pour into baking pan, bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

**For a higher protein version, use 1 cup of soy protein powder instead of flaxseed. You will need to bake this version about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

The bread was a hit with Court, Ash, and Me, but our mom and dad thought it was a bit too sweet. Well, you win some, and you lose some. We personally thought the bread was delicious, and perfectly sweet. And to pair with it was 2 scoops of Dreyer’s Cookie Dough Ice-cream, and a scoop of Truwhip.

 Cookie Dough…mmm PURE BLISS

This morning we began our 6 AM wake-up call with a green monster using a customized Vanilla Dream protein You Shake. This was one of the many flavors they sent us awhile back.

GREEN MONSTER:

  • 1/2 pkt of customized Vanilla dream protein powder
  • 1/2 tbs chia seeds
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tbs naturally more peanut butter
  • 1 frozen banana
  • Lots of spinach
  • 2 ice cubes

**Verdict: This Green monster was the best one we have ever made, and I honestly think it was this protein powder. The Vanilla flavor is so strong, and really makes the biggest difference. Kinda like a vanilla Milkshake 🙂

Customize your food the way you like it here.

To go along with our Green Monsters were our last two Nature’s Path Red berry waffles out of the freezer.

 And on top:

  • Honey Greek yogurt
  • Naturally more PB
  • Granola
  • Stawberries/blueberries

Lunch that was packed but then eaten at home included:

  • Veggie Salad
  • Dr.Kracker Pumpkin Seed Cheddar Flatbread (topped w/ half a laughing cow wedge)
  • 1 cutie

There was a lot of leftover ham in the fridge, so my mom decided to make us Ham Fried Rice for Dinner. And to pair we added a pink lady topped with pumpkin, PB, and cinnamon.

Tomorrow starts Week 4 of school! We are so close to summer 🙂 And this week is going to be 3 “A” days, and 2 “B” days, so it will be nice to only have 2 long days of school. Right now we’re having a Hills marathon on MTV, and guess what the new season starts Tuesday! Yay, we are Hills junkies. lol Cheers, Here is to a GOOD week!

XOXO Court & Whit

Friday 4/3

 >>>Rewind back to Thursday night:
Of course since a holiday is coming up, we got our monthly treat from the church girls. They are still trying to recruit us after all of this time. This time they left Peeps marshmallow sugar coated goodness on our doorstep.

French Meadow Bakery Brownie Review:

Also on Thursday night Whit and I each had one of our French Meadow Bakery Fudge Brownies inside of some ice cream.

Mmmm… Butter Pecan and a + it is all natural!

Usually the only store bought brownies I buy are Cosmic Brownies, but after trying this brownie I am going to have to switch over to these. They are much better for you, and they make the perfects dessert. I like how these actually taste like real brownies, soft chewy, chocolatey perfection. For 360 calories that is not bad considering how big and thick these brownies are! For more info. visit http://www.frenchmeadow.com/

Okay now on to Friday’s breakfast. Whit and I had to wake up at 4 am so that we could be to work by 6. So once again we needed something quick and easy. Coach’s Oats sent Whit a big box of their oats to review a few days ago, so we pulled them out and got to work.

Here is the difference of Coach’s Oats compared to other oats from their website:

Coach’s Oats are prepared in an entirely new way. The groats are toasted to bring the natural sugars to the surface of the oat, then cracked into small pieces. This patented Cracked n’ Toasted™ process means that Coach’s Oats are never mushy, always naturally delicious and cook in just five minutes on a stovetop or in the microwave.

That’s the Coach’s Oats difference!

We also decided to use some stevia that we got sent to review…. This morning’s bowl of oats was GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE!

We used the Pure Liquid Vanilla Stevia and combined it in with some milk and our Vanilla Hazelnut coffee blend from Einstein’s. It truly made for the best latte!

For the oats:
-1 coach’s oats pack(which has 1/4 cup, but you can use any oats)
-1/2 packet of stevia or your preferred sweetener
-1/4 cup of almond milk
-1/2 cup of water
-1 tsp. of sugar free carnation chocolate instant breakfast
-1 tbs. of coconut

Combine all of these ingredients in a bowl and microwave for 3 1/2 min.

For the frosting:
-1/2 tbs. of coconut butter
-1/2 tbs. of dark chocolate pb
-another little sprinkle of coconut

Microwave each for about a minute, then combine. Finally pour the frosting over your oats and top with some chopped walnuts. Enjoy!

Oats verdict: Whit and I usually use 1/2 cup of oats because anything less will not keep us full, but I felt completely satisfied all day! Also you can really taste the natural sweetness to them. These are definitely different compared to any other oats I have ever tried 🙂

NuStevia Verdict: These products are great! They really helped sweeten up breakfast and these products did not give off that bitter fake sugar taste like splenda.

Here is some more info. about NuStevia:
*It contains 60% more Stevia than other leading brands
*Will not raise blood sugar levels
*100% natural, gluten free, does not contain aspartame, saccharin, sucralose, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, or any kind of artificial sweeteners/colors

Whit and I were too tired to pack a lunch the night before, so we threw together a snackie lunch! Perfect foods was kind enough to send us a big box of their bars to review. Each bar contains 18g of protein! A blend of  organic raw honey and peanut butter is used to sweeten these bars. **From the box: “The mixture of protein, complex carbohydrates, and essential omega-3 healthy fats, provides a well balanced meal on the go”** For more info. visit http://www.perfectfoodsbar.com

They sent us peanut butter, fruit & nut, cranberry crunch, and carob chip to try.

Whit and I decided on Cranberry crunch. It had little rice puffs in it, which kind of gave it that rice krispy taste. The bar felt really soft, you just barely touch it and your finger leaves a dent in it. It is probably from the raw honey. This was not your ordinary bar. I like that it is so different!

When Whit and I got home we were yet again craving something with PEANUT BUTTER…lol you can never get enough of that stuff! This snack helped gave us a quick pick me up before our intense INSANITY workout. Today’s was Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs. All of my muscles were fatigued, I could barely lift up my legs for the high knees.

By the time Whit and I got to our abs video, we could barely move. When we were all done some hot pizza from Dominos was waiting for us on the counter. I love their garlic bread crust. It goes perfect with chicken, bell pepper, onion pizza. My family always orders chicken on our pizza because it is a lot healthier than pepperoni. Pepperoni is a processed meat that contains a lot of saturated fat.

And of course what is dominos pizza without some KICKERS!

Whit and I ended up going in the hot tub again! It felt so good on these sore muscles 😛
