-ACT COMPLETE-

28 Apr

Holey Canoli! We went to bed super early last night, so that we could get our beauty smart sleep for all that testing going on today. For a good healthy/fulfilling breakfast, we whipped up egg whites(egg whites, spinach, laughing cow, chickpeas, broccoli, hot sauce!), some strawberries, and Apple Cinnamon raisin toast. And, for a little perk, and oldie but a goodie, the last of the Pumpkin Spice Latte mix to make coffee. The test began at 7:15 AM, and then ended at 10:45! And oh my goodness the science section was so hard. 😦

When we got home around 11:15, lunch was a favorite repeat of last week. A green monster, and a Pumpkin PB banana Pita (but this time in a tortilla, and this one had a few chopped dates added).

Green Monsters are so refreshing with lunch 🙂

After lunch, we looked at today’s grocery Ad’s since it is Double Ad Wednesday. Sprouts and Albertson’s were having some good deals going on, so our mom gave us her card, and we got the grocery shopping done for the week. And the good thing is, no crazy weather happened like it usually does when were out grocery shopping. definitely odd.

For dinner tonight, using our New Hungry girl book, we made Shrimp and Grits. This recipe was adapted from Paula Deen, but then made 100 times healthier. And it was quite a success with this household of picky eaters. lol It was actually everyone’s first time trying grits, which is weird. And I thought they tasted like mashed potatoes, and kinda ricey like. All in all we are grits lovers now♥ To go along with this meal, some veggies were steamed, a crescent roll, and a sparkling Izze.

Wow, who knew how good grits would be, and the laughing cow mixed in gives a lot of flava!

Umm yeah, totally thumbs up meal!

 Cheers!

XOXO Court & Whit ♥

Tornado’s, Projects, & Friday… Oh my!

23 Apr

Hey Guys!

Long time, no see. You have probably been wondering where have Court & Whit gone? Well, to answer your question we have been…here…and

here… making these magazines for US History. This project was torture 😦  These week has been out of CONTROL… So much HW! Everynight has been HW,HW,HW.. and more HW. Time is dwindling down and now it is Crunch Time. So pretty much a lot of Crazy things have been happening this week.

 Wednesday~ Late Day “B” Day

Well let’s just say for being a “B” day, Wed flew by in the blink of an eye.

 Breakfast=Pumpkin Pancake Trio

Toppings were per usual: 1) PB and Pumpkin butter, Greek yogurt&granola, sugar-free syrup

Mid-morning snack: Cookies ‘n Cream Luna

Lunch: Veggie salad, Clem, and 100 cal kettle popcorn

Also mixed in, was some leftover Garlic Pork Tenderloin

Afterschool, we rushed home, did level 3 of the Shred, then got right to work on that Project!

Breakfast for Dinner is the best, so Dinner= Egg white spinach scramble, half of a juicy grapefruit, and some Apple cinnamon toast.

Thursday~Earth Day!!!

Breakfast= Pumpkiny oats, with a Deep Chocolate Vita and new “Naturally More” PB. Also a green tea latte

This morning, and all week has been on and off PURE RAIN! You would think we we’re on the East Coast, but nope it is Just Colorado for you. Warm meals have been cozy though.

**Naturally More PB Review: naturally more is lower in calories 169 vs. 190 for 2 tbs, naturally good for you-Flax, egg whites, etc. It was easy spread-Liqudy just the way I like 🙂

Very Yummy, and we loved the texture 😉

Purchase yours here.

After seeing this fabulous creation on Kath’s blog, Courtney and I recreated it for lunch using Progreso Tomato Bisque Soup, 1 Egg, and half of a Naan Flatbread w/ Laughing cow spread on top. This was awesome, I don’t know why we have never tried this before, but eggs are yummy mixed in tomato soup!

And some Pepper was used to spice up the top.

 MMM, Flatbread 🙂

It was our early day today, so after lunch we decided to go grocery shopping for our mom. When we left, it was sunny & bright. As Whit & I were walking around Safeway casually, we looked outside and the whole sky was SUPER DARK! We were thinking WTF happened to the Weather? Then we heard the sirens (tornado sirens). We hurried up, checked out, then rushed into the pouring rain to get to our car. The whole parking lot was flooded, so our pants were soaked up to our knees, and the basket was sliding everywhere! When we got in the car, everyone was calling us frantically to get home, and sure enough we got home safely. Colorado weather never gets boring. lol

When we got home, a yogurt mess was sounding pretty ideal, so we whipped one up using:

  • Peach chobani
  • Plain greek yogurt
  • Naturally more PB
  • Mango
  • Banana
  • Apple Granola

While out grocery shopping, we got some of Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels with our handy dandy VIP coupon to review.

**Verdict: WOW! With real cheese, these babies were stuffed with creamy cheese, and were soft chewy goodness. There will for sure be more of these stocked up in the freezer in the future 🙂

Also, picked up to try was Mocha Fudge SO Delicious Ice-cream!

**Verdict: So creamy and decadent with big pillows of fudge in every bite. It kinda tasted like Starbucks Java Chip IC, but with less cals. We could not believe it was dairy-free! If you like SB Ice-cream, then we recommend this flavor to you.

This was seriously a night of new products, and A LOT of Reviews. So with that said, to go on top of our Ice-cream was Tru whip.

we want to hear from you!

Chemicals aren’t cool. So in 2007, when we looked at the whipped topping category and realized there were no natural alternatives, we decided to create one. Ta-daaa! truwhip was born.

At Peak Foods, we are committed to safety, quality and environmental sustainability, as well as health and taste. That’s why truwhip has no chemicals, trans fats, hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. Even better, no bad karma.

We did it for all you folks out there who grew up eating tempting desserts and fluffy fruit salads made with old-style whipped topping. At long last, the flavors you love, without the unhealthy stuff you don’t! So bring on the Pineapple Fluff, Strawberry Yogurt Pie and Banana Pudding Parfait!

 FRIDAY~TGIF!!!

This morning, it was raining again! Surprise, surprise. lol While walking down the ceral aisle in Safeway yesterday Court and I spotted something that caught our eye, Abundance Oatmeal. There are so many cool flavors,so we got Apple Cinnamon, and Maple Streusual.

To mix in we had:

  • Pink lady (heated w/ agave cinnamon)
  • Apple Granola
  • Naturally More PB
  • Cinnamon

And for a new Coffee creation, I being the Coffee making CHEF came up with a Chocolate Mint Latte, that is around 90 cals

And for some extra creaminess, a dallop of Truwhip! 🙂

For a snack during third period today, we tried another flavor of the Raw Crunch bars. CHOCOLATE!

**Verdict: Still loving the satisfaction these bars give me, and the chocolate in this one was heavenly 🙂 It was giant, crunchy, salty, and CHOCOLATEY!

Get yours! Raw Crunch

With the continue of crazy weather, during second period it was a crazy blizzard outside. lol

Lunch was a Turkey Riccotta wrap, with apples, and a Breyers Yocrunch!

Wrap are the best on the Italian Flatout 😉

Now that you are all caught up, we are gonna go continue watching our Hills Marathon on MTV, listen to the rain, and maybe cook up a Frushetta Pizza. It is friday night baby! And the night is still young. Let the weekend begin, or work. lol oh well, better than school 🙂

~Peace!

Fabulous end to a fabulous day!

16 Apr

So pretty much after lunch today, Court and I came home and passed out for about 3 hours. LOL, I love♥  a good nap that can just knock you out like that! That is when you know your body needed it. And it’s Friday, we’re gonna be working all weekend, you know take advantage of that spare time. After making a Tuna melt yesterday for dinner, I thought of another great meal. Tonight we made a healthier version of a Tuna Casserole, with all the ingredients pictured below.

After mixing all ingredients, it was put in the oven at 375 for about 15 min.

Viola! It turned out great, and randomly paired was a piece of smart balance buttered toast and Grapes 🙂

 Simple. Easy. Delicious. Friday.

After dinner, our mom gotta kind of mad at us for not doing the yard work she asked us to do earlier which was to pick up all the leaves under the tramp and along the fence whoops! lol So after the lecture we headed out to the backyard with a trash bag and tried to pick up all of those leaves ASAP, I mean we did have some plans, and it is Friday night, I mean Come on Mom? Really?

When the yard was all leave-free, we got the okay, then headed to Stella’s Coffee House for a fun night with the older sister. This evening’s flavor was a Non-fat White Chocolate Mocha. And look, they even have Heart Thrive’s there. So Court and I split the Apple pack. This was our first time trying these, and they are yum yum for the tum tum.

As soon as we picked up our warm drink, we wanted to go around the corner to Washington Park. We took about an hour walk all through the park and around Smith Lake.

It was beautiful, so many people we’re out bike riding, and the weather felt perfect.

Here we are on the dock. I am on the left, and Court is on the right.

These houses are really classic old, and so awesome! Our older sister Karstee wants to move over here, and I think one day I would too. This area is right by DU and the Cherry Creek area.

There were Geese everywhere, and we were all a little afraid that they might attack us. Lol, nope. Glad to report they did not.

And would you look at the root of that TREE! okay, random but Karstee told me to take a picture so I did.

In the mail today, we tore open Goji cookie HEAVEN 🙂 There was this fabulous package from Gourmet Goji!
