It’s Friday, It’s Friday!

       Who is excited? We are! Week 7 is crossed off. 2 more weeks. Ahh, we are almost there. Thank god this was the last full week though. Next week we have Thursday off for Graduation, and the week after that Monday off for Memorial Day. It is so crazy, we are going to be Seniors soon! Now it’s just time to get through finals, and History’s is a 40 min presentation on a Decade, and our group got the 60’s. I don’t think we’ll do good on that one. History is our only class together, and we got sucky people in our group, who do not know what is going on. So far we have nothing for our presentation, and we’re the first group to go next Friday. Just our luck! Right? This is the worst Final I’ve ever had to do. What has been the worst Final you’ve ever taken?

Thursday Recap- Today was the senior Exit assembly. So basically the whole school gets together, and we celebrate the Seniors leaving, then they go to Elitches, and we are bummed while heading back to class. Since the assembly took up like all of first period, we had an extended period making second period end later too. So instead of getting out at 10:45, we got out at 11:15. When we got home, we made lunch, and attempted to make homemade coconut butter! After lunch Whit was so tired that when we were hanging out in her room, she fell asleep. Then, I got bored and tired with no one to hangout with, so I decided to take a nap too. At about 3 our mom called, waking us up from our nap to tell us “Meet me at Albertson’s, so we can go Grocery Shopping together.” After we all went grocery shopping, we took a short walk around the neighborhood, and completed Level 3 of the 30 day shred. It was so HOTT outside, so something cold was the only thing that sounded good. We decided a HUMUNGO Green Monster with Rice Pecan Bread sounded Ideal. It was a long day that left no motivation for Homework at all. I managed to get a lot done, but Whit did not even to close to all the HW she had and went to bed. I think this week has really drained her. LOL.

Thursday 5/20

 Breakfast:

  • Yogi Peach Detox Tea
  • Spinach laughing cow Egg whites
  • Apple Cinnamon Raisin Toast

 Lunch

  • Veggie Burger Salad
  • Sweet Cinnamon Sweet potato Fries

 There were two dips involved for the fries:

1. Agave and Cinnamon

 2. Honey Greek yogurt mixed with melted Mighty maple PB, and Cinnamon

 Dinner:

 Today’s Recap-  We woke up to a new modified Coffee Oats! This one is called Strawerry(Cherry/strawberry) Mocha cappuccino Oats, using one of the lovely things we picked up yesterday. Bolthouse Mocha Cappuccino Juice was a recommendation Courtesy of TeenHealthFreak. Thanks girl, it rocks!

After that recipe worth breakfast, we headed off to school for a long 8 hrs of our day. While there, we accomplished a lot and therefore have hardly any HW. Go US! Some recipes I have been dying to try lately are Almond Joy Silken Cheesecake, Chai Tea Granola, and Banana Bars! Such great recipes, and when the time comes THEY WILL BE MADE ♥♥♥

      So far there are not too many plans for this weekend other than work of course. I cannot wait to have myself a White Chocolate Mocha tomorrow at work. Whoop Whoop!

 **Strawerry Mocha Cappuccino Oats**

Serves 1:

  • 1/2 cup old Fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup Bolthouse Mocha Cappuccino Juice
  • 1 cup water
  • Lots of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp golden flaxseeds

Toppings

  • 1 spoonful of mighty maple
  • 1 spoonful of Honey Greek Yogurt
  • Drizzle of Sugar-Free Syrup
  • sprinkle Unsweetened Coconut
  • Cherries
  • Strawberries

 Mid-Morning Snack:

 Lunch:

-Mixed green Salad

  • Romaine/Spinach
  • lentils/Quinoa
  • Dried Cherries
  •  Carrots/Cauliflower/broccoli
  • Raspberry vinaigrette

-Somersaults

-Strawberries/Mango

 Since we finished off the Cocoa Package of these Somersaults, it was time to rip open the Sea Salt Flava!!!

 

 

 **Verdict- MMM, if you love sunflower seeds, or even salty chips these are the perfect replacement. They are healthy, low in fat, and chuck full of protein. I still am loving the chocolate ones the best, but these really get your salty craving.

Look what we came home to, A Generous and very Large package from Newman’s Own Organic’s!

 For an afternoon snack, we decided to try the Chocolate O’s and Cinnamon Hermit Cookie First.

 

 Chocolate Newman’s O’s:

  • Is not hydrogenated
  • Contains no trans-fatty acids
  • Is lower in saturated fat than butter and has no cholesterol
  • Is widely used in Europe as an alternative to partially hydrogenated oils
  • Is extracted from the palm’s fruit not the palms kernel
  • Can be grown organically in tropical regions
  • **Verdict- The taste is identical to a chocolate Oreo, but these are organic, and made from 100 X healthier ingredients. LOVE That!

     

    Cinnamon Newman’s Own Hermit’s:

    They are filled with delicious organic raisins and sweetened with organic molasses. These spicy, chewy cookies are said to have originated in Colonial New England.

    **Verdict- Woah, I have never gotten a baked cookie like this one from the store! These are amazing, so soft, chewy, and taste HOMEMADE. So far our Fav cookie till we sample the rest.

    ~So far the family is loving all of these goodies to try!

    Start of week 3 and Chobani Winner

    Good evening! 

    So how is everyone’s Monday’s going? The toughest day of the week is finally coming to a hault. Yay! And this is the start of week 3 of school. Yesterday Court and I worked from 8-3:30PM, and here were our eats:

    Sunday Breakfast: POM Overnight Oats

    In the mix:

    • 1/3 cup old fashioned oats
    • 1/4 cup Chobani Pom greek yogurt
    • 2 tbs of Pom Kefir
    • 1/2 tbs Pom juice
    • 1/3 cup plain greek yogurt
    • 1 tsp chia seeds

    Top:

    • 1 CranBran Vita
    • 1/2 tbs unsweetened Coconut
    • handful of kashi cereal

     AND then topped with one of these beauty’s!

     Cranbran was perfect to go with pom and berry flavors.

    And  To pair we made ginger green tea lattes.

     Overnight oats are decadent as always 🙂

     Work was more than a lot to handle today, I’m telling you I cannot wait until I do not work in FAST FOOD! Don’t get me wrong bagels and Coffee is cute, there is just a HIGH demand from people. lol, esp. since we work at the busiest Einstein’s in the nation, TRUE FACT! Oh and by the way all of our stores are having contest for FREE iPods and gift cards, and so far it is looking very promising, YES!!! I could so use a new NANO.

    Lunch was some amaaazzzing left over Tuna casserole with a clem and Raspberry Prana bar:

     The Baker’s at work left all of the dished from all day, Courtney and I were the only closers with our manager, and it took for freakin ever to leave. So by the time we got home we were HUNGRY! To fuel we had some millet bread topped with cinnamon, dark chocolate PB, drizzle of chobani pineapple yogurt, 1 strawberry, 1 walnut. To die for 😉

     

     Since the weather was extra nice today, our dad pulled out the barbeque and cooked up some yummalicious hamburgers, and some Lime Chee Cha’s went with that. I’m gonna be really sad when our CheeCha stash is gone, these things are Bomb!

     And now onto this morning. Yesterday we restocked the banana stash, so we put them to good use this morning. We made

    Banana Bread Oats!

    In the mix:

    •  1/3 cup oats, 1/3 almond milk, 1/3 water
    • 1 tsp chia
    • 1 tsp flax
    • 1 banana (half mashed and cooked in)
    • cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 1 tsp Turbinado sugar

    Top:

     And of course you guessed it Banana Nut Vita was the inspiration for this creation, mmm…

     Packed today was another satisfying Raw Crunch bar for Mid-morning snack.

    Verdict: We are still in love with these bars, they were perfect to hold us over till lunch. And, the Goji’s added a ton of flavor! 

     In the lunchbox:

    • A PB Sugar-Free Apricot Preserve Sandwich Thin
    • Cutie
    • Mixture of Pear, apple, and Stacey’s cinna-sugar chips

     

    When we got home about 3:15, it was Snack time, so we used a banana cream pie yogurt to make a Yogurt Mess!

     *Not a fan of the Aspartame in these yogurts, but they got so many dang good flavors. 😦

    After this Energizing snack, we proceeded to our Workout date with Jillan Michael’s, doing her 30 Day Shred level 2. Have you been shredded yet? After doing nothing but Cardio for 2 months with Insanity, the Strength parts of the Video killed us! I was happy that the Cardio portion was such a breeze, but my god 3 pounder weights have never felt so heavy. LOL my whole arm was shaking. I know not that Insanity is done, it is time to do some weight training, and AB work. So tomorrow were hitting the gym after second period. And I’m sure it will be a good sweat sessh, and it will be a reunion to the Treadmill. But I’m kinda excited to see how my stamina does.

     Karst made dinner for us all tonight, and the house smelled like delish Alfredo and Garlic. We had Chicken Alfredo with a Veggie Salad. So good, when do carbs not make a girl happy?

    We also hopped on the Chia Pudding train tonight. This was our first time trying it, and I thought it was rather Yummy myself. Our special creation though was Mint Chocolate Carob Chia Pudding. Beat that! The flavor tasted just like Mint Chocolate Chip Ice-cream.

    In the mix:

    • 1/2 cup almond milk
    • 1 tbs chia seeds
    • 1/8 tsp mint extract
    • 1 pkt stevia
    • 1 spoonful of dark chocolate PB
