Loving Kettlebell workouts!

Happy Tuesday Friends! :)

     We did in fact have school today, but look who is still managing to post. That’s right we are! Breakfast this morning was a lil’ creation out of Jillian’s Boost Metabolism Cookbook. “Greek Yogurt Crunch.”

In the mix:

  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 cup berries

Crunch:

  • 1/8 cup Quinoa and 1 tbs flaxseed cooked in the oven w/ honey and olive oil

And as an addition we added PB, Puffed millet and kashi go lean crunch.

 

This crunch filled delight held me over well into the day :)

For a snack at school there was a unpictured White Chocolate Macadamia Nut bar that was eaten during math class while we watched Obama’s speech. Did anyone else watch his speech on Education in class?

As soon as 3rd period was let out, Court and I came home to this lovely lunch.

Afterschool, Court and I were looking for a new workout on ONDEMAND for Free, and look what we came across. Jillian’s Shred-It with weights is out, and we had a winner for todays workout. Out of all the workout equipment we have, somehow we do not have kettlebells, so we used 8 lb handweights. In the video one of the girls also uses a handweight, so we just followed her. It was an awesome total body workout. Seriously, we were sweating, heart rate up, and abs burning! After doing this, I want Jillian’s Kettbell that she uses in the video which lets you change out the plates to adjust the weight.

 Oh, and look at all this Senior Spirit wear we picked up today!

 This one is my fav. which is on the back of the sweatshirt! ♥

The Shred does not stop there

Just when you thought you could only Shred with Jillian once, she has come back to give you another great workout. Have you heard? The all time famous Jillian Michaels has come out with a new workout DVD called “Shred it with weights” scheduled to be released September 7, 2010! Who is as excited as we are? So what does this DVD offer you might be asking now… hmmm well, it consists of two 30 minute booty kicking workouts. It is a total body workout designed to burn maximum fat using a kettlebell, or handweights. Jillian is awesome! This is Whit writing here, and seriously one day I hope to be a Kick butt trainer just like her. She is kinda my Celebrity Job Idol. lol

Dessert Last night- Yogurt mess with half a chocolate VitaTop mixed in and a lot of other stuff. lol

 

Hey hey hey, how was your day? Today was the last day of our “Vacay” from work. Tear :( lol oh, well works not THAT bad. We have spent our last day waking up at 8:30, then making these glorious Pumpkin Coffee Oats.     

  In the mix:

  

In the blender mix together:  

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup egg whites
  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbs pumpkin puree

  

Transfer to pan, and while cooking add:  

  • 1 packet stevia
  • 1/8 tsp maple extract
  • lots of cinnamon
  • lots of pumpkin pie spice

  

Toppings:  

  •  Plain yogurtr
  • Peanut Butter
  • Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbs sugar-fee syrup
  • 1 tsp walden’s calorie free caramel sauce

  

    

  While eating breakfast, Court and I looked if there were any shows recorded on ONDEMAND, and then decided to watch Losing it with Jillian.  After our tummies settled, we completed our HIIT  25 class. Then, got ready to meet up with Karstee at La creperie Cafe for lunch.    

   

   This cafe is awesome, and you can see them make the food right from where you are sitting. With all the time it took, we were pretty sure that we were going to be getting some quality food.  

The place was not hoppin as you can see. lol

 

 Court and I could not make up our minds for what Crepes we wanted, so we just decided to get one savory and one sweet, then split them. :)

Tonight for Dinner it is Fish night! Court and I used the HungryGirl Teriyaki Pineapple glaze, and put it on some Salmon.      

   

   

    

Well, we are off to movie on the rocks at Red Rocks, and tonights movie is Clueless. We might even stop for froyo before hand. Yay :)

Thurday May 13th-    

 Well we did it! we stuck to our word, and woke up before school to have a yoga date with Jillian. That is right, it was 40 min. and intense. This whole week has consisted mostly of strength, but that is ok because I listened to my body and this is just what it needed.    

We completed level 1 of Yoga Meltdown on demand. This was just as intense as the yoga download we did on Tuesday. I loved it. The video is very aerobic. Jillian incorporates flowing yoga poses for repetitions, and then she holds each pose for 15 sec.. These bottles are awesome! There is a blender ball mixer inside.

Served alongside our shakes was some Raisin Pecan Bread. I love all of the breads from Food For Life. This bread has the same texture as millet and tastes just as great!    

    

We topped our bread with greek yogurt, strawberries, preserves, almond butter, coconut, and granola!    

    

It felt good to have something else for breakfast this morning, besides oats.    

    

**Verdict: This just plain ol’ tasted like a chocolate shake. It did not give off that chalky after taste like most protein powders. I cannot wait to make some more creations with all of the other flavors!**

Mid-morning snack: Pumpkin Pecan Kashi
It has been far too long since I have had one of these bars! They are by far the best pumpkin granola bar you can get.
    

CAUTION: If you have school, you might want to opt. for a different bar. I forgot how sticky the pumkin filling on top was, lol. It was getting stuck to my teeth the every time I took a bite. It was not very pretty.     

    

     

Whit and I were much too tired to make a lunch last night so we packed a fozen meal, and the best darn one at that ;)    

Ok definitely do not shun healthy choice frozen meals. This was superb. I was literally licking the gravy from the plastic when I was done lol.    

    

Afterschool snack was a yogurt mess with the additon of Cherries!    

    

     

     

Well tonight has been another rainy dreary night, so Whist and I got creative and thought up a meal that we already had all of the ingredients for. That is right when it is cold, our turn to food is soup! So… on the menu tonight was Chili Verde! We followed this recipe.    

    

Look at all of those onions and jalapeno!    

    

Served alongside was our maple vegan cornbread and some things to scoop with: cheecha’s and kashi crackers.    

    

Well the whole family clearly loved this soup, because we already polished off the pot!    

    

Well, sleep is calling my name :)
